friends! i am thrilled to share that there is an upcoming event, hosted by villanova theatre and the villanova university center for irish studies. on thursday, november 3rd at 7pm, prior to our final preview performance, there will be a special event at the refectory next door to the john and joan mullen center for the performing arts.

i'm so excited to have the opportunity to discuss an area of research i feel passionately about, which is the irish influence on beckett's work. the context of his life as a man born in ireland during a deeply significant moment in the country's history is striking and undoubtedly worthy of discussion over dramaturgically appropriate beverages.

what did beckett like to drink, you ask? perhaps he preferred france at war to ireland at peace, but he was a man loyal to irish whiskey until the very end.
